Fall 2024 Update From Our Exec – Camp Fire Central Puget Sound

An Update From Our Exec

After more than a year’s worth of planning, I am excited to share that we have a first draft of a Site Master Plan for Camp Sealth.  The overarching theme of this work was “How do we transition a great summer camp into a great year-round facility?” In addition to making sure that every cabin at camp receives a refresh, our 4 main goals are to:

  • Make camp “greener” and more energy efficient
  • Make camp more accessible to more people of all abilities
  • Enhance camp’s ability to run separate programs simultaneously in upper and lower camp
  • Expand our summer riding program and add the ability to offer year-round equestrian programs

This is the first step in a long process and is why we refer to this as a “draft” plan.  During the next several months, we will be seeking feedback from stakeholders on what they like and what might still be missing.  Then we will begin work on prioritizing projects into phases. We will begin meeting with government agencies on permitting and feasibility.  All of this will culminate in a future capital fundraising campaign to bring this vision into reality and invest in the second century of Camp Sealth.

Please let me know if you have any questions, suggestions or would like to schedule a time to discuss this plan in more detail.  And on behalf of our youth and staff, my deepest gratitude goes out to all of you who support Camp Fire with your time, talents and financial gifts!
