Our Leadership

Rick Taylor (He/Him),
Executive Director
Rick joined Camp Fire in 2007 as our Director of Camping & Outdoor Education and has served as Executive Director for 10 years. He brings more than 30 years of experience directing camps across the country. Rick & his wife have three grown children and two grandchildren. They live at Camp Sealth with their dog, Pippin. Rick applauds Camp Fire’s commitment to inclusivity and empowering youth in small group settings.

Dana Aoyama (She/Her),
Director of Finance
Dana has worked for Camp Fire in a variety of positions for many years. A WoHeLo awardee, she also attended Camp Sealth as a child and volunteered at our Day Camps. She adds, “Camp Fire is very close to my heart. I have always appreciated their commitment to inclusion and emphasis on leadership skills.”

Kristen Cook (She/Her),
Director of Donor Relations
Kristen joined the Camp Fire team in 2013 and has held several roles throughout her tenure. She currently leads our fundraising and communication efforts and has a passion for connecting donors to Camp Fire’s youth and families. She resides on Vashon with her husband, son, one very feisty feline and numerous plants.

Omar Malik (He/Him),
Director of Camping
Omar joined Camp Fire in 2024 after spending the previous 10 years in the Bay Area working for the Boys & Girls Club of San Francisco’s residential summer camp, Camp Mendocino. Omar’s passion for camping stems from his desire to make camps, nature, and outdoor education accessible for all youth, regardless of race, gender, ethnicity or circumstance. Omar lives on Vashon with his wife Gretta, daughter Nadia and their 18 year old chihuahua, Kiki.

Carrie Kishline (She/Her),
Director of Strategic Initiatives
Carrie, AKA Care Bear, has more than twenty years of experience working at Camp Sealth and attended camp as a child and counselor. She lives at camp with her husband, son, cat Apple, and dog Freya. She enjoys spending time at camp with her younger brother Peter who has special needs. Carrie “loves seeing kids grow and watching them become stronger, more compassionate, and more capable versions of themselves. Every day, I’m amazed that I get to be a part of that transformation.”
Our Staff

Michael McGrath (He/Him),
Human Resources & Accounting Specialist
Michael is thrilled to serve the staff and volunteers of Camp Fire in his role as HR & Accounting Specialist. After starting as a Kitchen Assistant, he has spent time in departments all across the organization and now works to support our staff and advocate for their needs. His work on the administrative team helps keep Camp Fire operations running smoothly on a daily basis. When not at Camp Fire, he boldly takes on trail runs and loves to travel the world.

Robin Dein (He/Him),
Outdoor Education & Retreats Director
Originally from Madison, WI, Robin has been an environmental educator in Washington since 2015. He initially came to Washington as an outdoor environmental educator for Camp Killoqua and liked it so much that he kept finding reasons to stay. He has worked locally with IslandWood, Seattle Aquarium, Pacific Science Center, and the UW Botanic Gardens. He completed his Master of Education degree at the University of Washington in June 2018.

Berti (She/They),
Summer Camp Director
Berti completed her Bachelors in Recreation Management & Leadership at WWU and is excited to join our full-time staff. Growing up in Camp Fire and earning their 15-year plaque at Camp Sealth, Berti has a long history with our organization. Berti AKA Shazam can be found beach combing, amateur bird watching, thrifting, and collaging. They find joy in trivia, collecting tchotchkes, and expressing themselves through creative compositions. With a passion for fostering connections, Berti hopes to bring the Camp Fire community together in all facets, creating unforgettable experiences for all ages.

Corey Gerberdolan (She/Her),
Day Camp Director
Corey joined the Camp Fire team in January of 2022! She’s worked in a variety of outdoor recreation settings for over 10 years and spent her first year with us as the Seattle Office Manager. Corey, AKA“TreeTop,” is dedicated to the easy accessibility of nature for everyone. She adds, “I’m thrilled to be a part of a community with strong business skills, as well as a clear love and focus for youth.” Corey enjoys triathlons, disc golf, and anything to do with friendship string.

Natalie Copeland (She/Her),
Events & Community Outreach Director
Natalie grew up on Snoqualmie land and is devoted to bringing people more fully alive in silly, creative, and adventurous ways. She is passionate about getting people outside to play in the forest and look at the sky! Joining the team in 2024, she brings eclectic experiences in informal education, science communication, community outreach, nature connection, and theatre production. She has worked with institutions such as The Museum of Flight, Wilderness Awareness School, and Annex Theatre and holds degrees in musical theatre and cultural astronomy. When not producing programs and events, Natalie is probably walking in the wooded twilight, working on a song/painting/puzzle/piece of writing/bush-craft, or loving her people.

Mulch Morwell (They/Them),
Community Programs Coordinator
Mulch joined the Camp Fire team in 2022 as a Day Camp counselor and science guy. In 2023 they moved on to assistant site director and then site director, working with a fantastic team to bring the magic of Day Camp to life. In the fall of 2023 they joined the Seattle team full-time to help expand their teen programming offerings. Mulch loves cats, art, and teaching kids, teens, and adults everything they know.

Kim Roeser (She/Her),
Camp Sealth Office Manager
Kim joins the Camp Fire team with a background in social work (group home management), small business management, & ownership. She continues to cultivate strong ties to her Vashon community and an excitement for the camp community as a whole. She pulls from her customer service background to provide a touch point for families to connect with and is available at camp year-round! Kim AKA “Bizzy” is a diehard Packers Fan, a bonus parent to a very cool teen and proudly a member of the LGBTQIA+ family. Her and her partner spend their time baking, gardening, & crafting. “I am profoundly appreciative of the opportunity to work for a company that has a forefront emphasis on creating a space for everyone. Camp Fire creates the ability to just be you and it is celebrated, I absolutely love that”.

Emma R.P. Sadinsky (She/Her),
Seattle Office Manager
Emma joined the Camp Fire team in 2023 and has a passion for ensuring youth have consistent, positive, and accessible access to the local natural environment. She brings her non-profit and customer service experience to support our families throughout the registration process. You can find her in the West Seattle Office or occasionally out at camp where she goes by “Pallet.”

Chad Lawson (He/Him),
Maintenance Director
Chad has more than 20 years of experience, with more than 10 working at Camp Sealth. Also known as “Pipeline”, he enjoys playing golf and watching sports in his spare time. He resides at camp with his wife Carrie, son T. Frazier and pets. His favorite part of working for Camp Fire is problem-solving and creating new opportunities for experiential education.

Casey Westphal (He/Him),
Maintenance Coordinator
Casey joined Camp Fire in February 2022. His long and varied background in Facilities Management and Construction, along with his creative thinking, has provided him with the tools to tackle any task. A native of KS, reared in GA, a graduate of Appalachian State University and a long time resident of Vashon Island, his interests are many and eclectic; from music, literature and art to science, history, geology and athletics. He is pleased to be a part of the Camp Fire community.
