Meet Vinial!
My name is Vinial, camp name Skipper. I am 21 years old, originally from Fiji and currently living in Auburn, WA.
I have just graduated from UW Tacoma with a degree in civil engineering, a job that I will be starting this Fall.
In my free time, I like to go go-karting with friends, hike in the great outdoors, and play recreational sports. I also enjoy trying out new hobbies such as dancing, bowling, snow sports and golf.
I first got involved with Camp Fire at a career fair in 2021 where I was drawn in by their programs and activities, which sparked my interest in working at a summer camp. That year I was a Counselor and then an OE instructor in the Fall. I have also been a volunteer during the summers of 2022 and 2023 and an Adventure Counselor this summer.
I enjoy working at Camp Fire because of its values and the chance to be surrounded by nature at Camp Sealth. It offers countless opportunities to engage in diverse activities while making a positive impact on youth.
I’ve come to appreciate what Camp Fire does for young people, from teaching environmental stewardship to embodying values like work, health, and love. I believe more children should have the opportunity to experience camp and its many benefits which is why I decided to become a donor. Earlier this year, I became a recurring donor, donating monthly, to make it easier to support causes that I care about without breaking the bank. I have found that it’s a simple, consistent way to give back.
I have seen firsthand that my donations provide invaluable experiences that shape young lives from various backgrounds, and I’m proud to support an organization dedicated to nurturing growth and increasing connections with nature.
